The entire primary section of the school, from classes I to IV
celebrated Readathon Day on the 1st of December. The classrooms and corridors
were suitably decorated for the day The day was set aside to initiate our
students into the practice of reading, a habit both parents and teachers strive
to inculcate in students. The students brought along an interesting story
book of their choice and were encouraged by their teachers to read the same in
class as part of devoted reading time followed by report writing where they
described what they had read. The teachers stressed the importance of
reading in order to help the students increase their vocabulary and self
–confidence to express themselves. They viewed a power point presentation on
famous and authentic writers and they enjoyed the day by writing a story book
of their own which indeed made them feel proud about themselves.
