Understanding of self, with a view to understand and help our kids better

The Management and staff of Don Bosco High School, Matunga participated in two seminars, the one conducted by Rev. Fr. Edison Fernandes and the other by Ms. Niru Chheda of the Mayurpankh Counselling Centre along with her resource persons.

Rev. Fr. Edison took the staff through the entire gamut of the Myers-Briggs Personality Typing in order to understand about the differing needs and areas of strength of each type. This is intended to help teachers cater to the needs of a large body of students, with a wide range of learning styles and potentials.

Ms. Vidya and Ms. Rupal along with Ms. Niru conducted a session on the numerous roles a teacher plays in the process of educating her students; in her interaction with the students as well as their parents. The counsellors stressed the necessity of working in tandem alongside them in our common roles as guides and counsellors; and to consult, refer and support the students to help them deal with A.D.H.D. and learning difficulties.
