The British children’s fiction author,
novelist and screenplay writer, Roald Dahl was the literary figure celebrated
by the English Literary Club of Don Bosco High School, Matunga.
The day began with a dialogue based presentation between the
teacher and the students in order to help students get to know this great
writer and to stay inspired by him. The interiors of the school displayed
charts giving information on the man and his works. Students were encouraged to
go through the charts, and also viewed a video and a power point presentation
in each of the classrooms, from class V to class X.
The Roald Dahl Quiz was thereafter conducted by Literary Club
members in the Conference Room of the school, for students from classes V to X.
The results were as follows-
FIRST
PLACE - STD X
SECOND PLACE - STD IX
THIRD
PLACE - STD VI
Winners were congratulated and awarded certificates of
appreciation.
“It all came about due to the interest shown by the club members
to share the knowledge acquired by them on this great writer. Having sensed the
need, the activity gained momentum by way of ideas and implementation of the
same in order to see that the day was celebrated meaningfully,” shared Mrs.
Elizabeth Soares, Literary Club coordinator.
