Another academic year, another step
towards going green - The Nature Club takes on yet another challenge

GreenLine, the
Environmental Forum of the Don Bosco Development Society, as part of its ‘Green Schools
Campaign,’ held their first orientation programme of the year yesterday, for
teachers of the participating schools. The event was held at the GreenLine
Office in Don Bosco, Matunga. This is the sixth edition of the campaign that
aims at creating ‘greener people’ who in turn will create a ‘greener world.’
The teachers from Don Bosco High School, Matunga who attended the same were Ms.
Barkha Shah, Ms. Neelam Yadav and Ms. Alareen Fernandes. The Nature Club of Don
Bosco High School, Matunga will be directly involved in taking forward the
activities on the theme ‘Fauna Watch’ during this academic year.
A talk by Mr. Laxmikant Deshpande on
‘Environment education and sustainable development,’ followed by
Rev. Fr. Savio quoted Mother Teresa
when he reminded the teachers that “The world today does not listen to
preachers but it listens to witnesses,” and urged the teachers along with their
students to be proactive in their campaign of spreading awareness about, as
well as helping protect urban fauna.
