The Design For Change (D.F.C.

By Mrs. Elizabeth Soares, D.F.C. Coordinator

Don Bosco High School,
Matunga,
Mumbai, September 1, 2015:

The Design For Change (D.F.C.) programme is a global movement that cultivates the ‘I Can’ mindset in every child; empowering children by giving them the opportunity to express their own ideas for a better world and putting the same into action. Don Bosco High School, Matunga has taken on the same in the current academic year.
The Social Service students of Std. VIII, under the guidance of their teachers, Mrs. Bindu Keny, Mrs. Gracy Gonsalves, Mrs. Selma Gonsalves and Mrs. Karuna Dadipogu have identified key areas they wish to bring about the change in, as per the D.F.C. directives.
The students would accordingly be looking into-
·         Spreading awareness about electricity as a precious resource and judicious use thereof.
·         Reduction of honking outside the school premises.
·         Reduction of litter within the school premises.
·         Bringing about an awareness of the negative effects of abusive language.
Implementation of the same has been initiated through talks soliciting student and staff cooperation and informative placards.
